From its humble beginnings in 2017, Laymack Transport Services as an organisation started out with a medium sized DAF truck which was transporting various goods in and around Bulawayo. In 2019, it acquired a 30 tonne truck which was subsequently contracted to PPC Zimbabwe Limited to transport various items in Zimbabwe.
I n 2020, two more trucks were acquired to increase the fleet to four and then in 2021 to date, the fleet is at eight trucks. Over the years, the division also acquired one low bed; two link trailers and two tri-excel trailers.
I n addition, the division entered into a contract with PPC Zimbabwe Limited, where PPC Zimbabwe Limited provided three bulk tankers for use by Laymack Investments Transport and Logistics, whilst transporting bulk cement around the country.
Laymack Transport Services’ goal is to provide the highest level of transportation service as well as safe and timely deliveries, with fair and competitive pricing while providing a safe workplace for employees and maintaining integrity, fairness and honesty with customers and business partners.

We have a qualified workshop foreman and transport logistics officer.
We have qualified and experienced heavy duty motor vehicle mechanics
who ensure that all vehicles are fit for the road and that break-downs of
any magnitude are attended to on time.
The vehicles are connected to a vehicle tracking system to ensure that:
a) Deliveries are done within reasonable time and delivered to the correct destination
b) All stoppages on the way are accounted for
c) Fuel consumption is managed and controlled
d) Deliveries arrive at your desired destination intact
We consider safety at work as a critical work requirement and our policy incorporates
zero losstime to injury at our workplace. We have a full time safety officer who is
OSHEMAC qualified with NSSA.
We conduct daily safety meetings with the drivers and workshop team. Any vehicle
leaving the workshop for a trip has to be certified for fitness by the head mechanic &
authorised by the workshop foreman.
Laymack transport service has a strict vehicle checklist and inspection which is carried out
before and after any trip. these checks have been critical in detecting faults well in time
before any fatalities or damage to the vehicles. Our drivers are mature, and possess
clean class1 or 2 driver’s license with all valid retests.
All our vehicles are fully insured to hedge against any kind of losses in case of fire or
any other occurrence(s) / disasters.
We employ fully licensed and qualified drivers with all the necessary documentation.
All our employees go through a rigorous vetting process to establish whether they
have any criminal conviction(s).
Since the Colleen Bawn community is surrounded by artisanal mines, we find it
necessary to renumerate our employees well to avoid situations where they are
attracted to join the artisanal miners.
We value our employees’ suggestions and, we implement remedial action accordingly
where necessary. Laymack transport service puts each employee in a position to succeed
by making sure each employee is given the best opportunity to make meaningful and
lasting contribution to their team and projects.
We believe in effective management that brings about effective service delivery, as such
Laymack has taken up only those with the mind to fully comply with our business ethics
and conducts. We assist our teams by providing them with refresher courses as and
when they are due to keep them abreast with latest technologies, concepts and other
key industry changes in order for us to remain relevant in providing services to our clients.
Laymack transport service always ensure our employees are well renumerated as a
minimum above NEC requirements. In the current macro-economic environment, this
might require realignment on our charges to our clients to reflect the prevailing market
conditions.
